How does captivity shape fish behaviour, performance, and welfare?
Drawing on experience from Mediterranean aquaculture, research on fish learning and brain gene expression, and PhD trials on fish domestication, this seminar explores individual cognitive variation and phenotypic shifts across generations. These empirical insights are connected to key challenges in modern fish welfare research, such as assessing affective states and promoting positive welfare.
