Where are we?
Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean in the south of Portugal, we are strategically located in Faro, next to the unique ecosystem of the Ria Formosa.
Gambelas Campus
Our main building is located at the Gambelas Campus of the University of the Algarve.
Within the campus, the focal point for most of our laboratories and administrative services is Building 7 on the 1st floor. However, various research groups are strategically positioned across other campus buildings to foster collaboration.
Ramalhete Marine Station
Nestled in the heart of the Ria Formosa lagoon, the Ramalhete station serves as a hub for maintaining living organisms in a controlled environment, boasting aquariums of various sizes and fully-equipped laboratories.
