Estuaries and rías are sensitive ecosystems threatened by human pressures, global warming and sea-level rise. Their sedimentary records preserve information on past environmental conditions, offering a long-term perspective on historical changes and future trajectories.
In this seminar, the transformation of three coastal systems along the northern Atlantic Iberian margin will be explored using a high-resolution multiproxy approach. Finally, the seminar will address the quantitative modelling of their environmental recovery.
