Tell us a bit about the work you’ll be doing at CCMAR.
I am a Marie Curie Postdoc Fellow. During my project, I will explore a new proxy to unravel one of the long-lasting unknowns in paleoclimate studies: past seawater salinities. To do that, I will use trace element concentrations of benthic foraminifers.
What were you doing before you joined us?
BSc and MSc in Türkiye at Istanbul Technical University;
PhD in Italy as a Marie Curie Fellow at Roma Tre University.
Postdocs: in Germany (Max Planck Institute for Chemistry); Türkiye (ITU); Saudi Arabia (KAUST)
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Climbing, cooking, playing table tennis, reading, listening to music, and gardening
