The Portuguese Polar Sciences Conference (CPCP), organised annually by the Portuguese Polar Programme (PROPOLAR), brings together national and international researchers to present the latest scientific advances, discuss emerging challenges and foster new collaborations in polar research.

CCMAR is once again hosting the conference, having previously organised it in 2013 and 2022, thereby reinforcing its commitment to research and scientific collaboration in this field.
 

Why is it important?

The polar regions play a key role in the global climate system. Against a backdrop of rapid environmental change, understanding the processes taking place there is essential for anticipating the impacts on ecosystems, biodiversity and the climate, thereby contributing to more informed and sustainable decisions.
