Diana joined the Fisheries, Biodiversity and Conservation group to study communities of large pelagic migrators.

Tell us a bit about the work you'll be doing at CCMAR:

I'm part of the PRR Eólicas project, in which I'll be studying the communities of large pelagic migrators, such as sharks and tunas, off the Portuguese coast, with a focus on offshore wind farm areas

What do you like to do outside of work?

I like spending time in nature, hiking and taking photographs. Whenever the opportunity arises for a boat trip, I don't think twice! I also like spending time with my pets.’

What were you doing before you joined us?

My career has always been linked to research into marine ecosystems. Recently, I was analysing underwater acoustic data to identify various marine species, such as cetaceans, as well as anthropogenic sources.
