The award is presented by the European Commission and recognises CCMAR’s commitment to improving human resources policies and practices.
Achieving this recognition is the result of a rigorous process of analysis, reflection and planning, which began in 2024, during which CCMAR reviewed its practices, identified areas for improvement and defined concrete actions to promote a research environment that is more structured, inclusive, sustainable and conducive to professional development.
This process benefited from the vital contribution of the CCMAR community, through the participation of researchers at different stages of their careers, technical and management teams, working groups and decision-making bodies.
The award of this distinction represents an important milestone in CCMAR’s commitment to creating an environment where researchers and other professionals can develop their careers, strengthen their skills and contribute fully to the institution’s scientific mission. It also represents recognition of the work carried out by CCMAR in this area and of the quality of the process submitted to the European Commission.
CCMAR’s strategy is aligned with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers, which cover key areas such as ethics and integrity in research, equality, non-discrimination and inclusion, open science, recruitment and evaluation, working conditions, career development, training, supervision and mobility.
The presentation of the HR Excellence in Research Award does not mark the end of this process. On the contrary, it marks the start of a new phase of implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement. CCMAR will now move forward with the implementation of its Action Plan, continuing to engage its community in the review and improvement of human resources policies and practices, as well as the research environment.
