Climate change and environmental impacts on marine resources
Climate change and environmental impacts on marine resources: the group contributes at EU level to advances regarding a framework approach for the Assessment of Eco-socioeconomic effect of climate change on fisheries with results revealing predominantly low to moderate impacts of climate change on fisheries and main communities along the Portuguese coast; tropicalization and invasions with new marine species in the Algarve Coast have been registered and proposal of new management strategies proposed; the group also led a project to infer about the ecological characterization of Luanda Bay (Angola) and, throughout an hydrological model, presented a solution for environmental degradation (eg. HAB); in the Guadiana estuary continuous monitoring of plankton and water quality since 1998 allowed our open data contribution to Global Marine Ecological database-https://www.st.nmfs.noaa.gov/copepod/time-series/pt-30201/
