Chiara_24June_Seminar

On Wednesday, the 24th of June, CCMAR Seminar will feature Chiara Stringari, Principal Investigator at the CNRS Laboratory for Optics and Biosciences (LOB), École Polytechnique, France.

In this session titled “Label-free Metabolic Imaging of Living Tissues Using FLIM”, Chiara Stringari will present recent advances in fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM) of endogenous NAD(P)H, a label-free biophotonic approach for quantitative imaging of cellular metabolism.

The seminar will highlight developments in two-photon FLIM and its applications for minimally invasive, longitudinal imaging of metabolic dynamics in living tissues. These techniques enable in vivo studies with subcellular resolution and are opening new possibilities in fields such as neuroscience, developmental biology, and immunometabolism.

Drawing from her interdisciplinary research in biophotonics and nonlinear optical microscopy, Chiara will discuss how advanced label-free imaging technologies are helping researchers investigate physiological and pathological processes in living tissues, providing powerful tools for biological and biomedical research.

About the Speaker

Chiara Stringari is a researcher at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) at the Laboratory for Optics and Biosciences (LOB), École Polytechnique. Her research focuses on the development of innovative biophotonic and nonlinear optical microscopy techniques for functional and metabolic imaging of living tissues. She has pioneered multimodal label-free microscopy approaches, including Two-Photon Fluorescence Lifetime Microscopy (2P-FLIM), Second Harmonic Generation (SHG), and Third Harmonic Generation (THG) imaging, with applications spanning neuroscience, medicine, and biological research.
