Project Summary
This project focused on the use of fish scales to develop practical, non-invasive bioassays to assess the impact of hormones and environmental pollutants on fish physiology, in particular on the mechanisms of action of estrogens.
To do this, it used animal experimentation (in vivo and in vitro) with fish (sea bass, sea bream and Mozambique tilapia), biochemistry, molecular biology and omics technologies (transcriptomics and proteomics) combined with bioinformatics.
It also promoted diverse activities of outreach and science education in schools and in public events.
