My research focuses on the bioprospecting and biotechnological valorisation of plants, algae, and associated microorganisms for sustainable agricultural and environmental applications. My expertise includes plant biotechnology and in vitro cultivation, natural products, phytochemical characterisation, nutritional quality assessment, and bioactivity screening.
A key focus of my current research is exploring beneficial fungal endophytes, plant–microbe interactions, and natural bioactive compounds to enhance crop resilience to environmental stresses and develop innovative bio-based solutions for climate-resilient agriculture.
I also investigate phytoremediation, mycoremediation, and nature-based solutions for wastewater treatment, particularly targeting emerging contaminants and saline conditions.
