André Andrade studied Marine Biology at the University of Algarve where he also got a MSc degree in Marine Biology with specialization in aquaculture. Is final MSc thesis, being part of a project related with fish oocites maturation, gave him expertise mainly on molecular biology laboratory work. In the past 6 years he worked as a research assistant in several projects where he was responsible mainly for the molecular biology work but also the histology and the live imaging microscopy work. Currently he is working as a research assistant in the SUSHIfish COFASP collaborative project in the laboratory of Professor Adelino Canário that is part of the Comparative Endocrinology and Integrative Biology research group (CEIB) from the Center of Marine Sciences (CCMAR), University of Algarve (UALG). This is now his second fellowship within the CEIB group for the last 5 years and in both, the research has focused on the reproductive biology of key aquaculture fish species as the European sea bass, sea bream and tilapia. Within the CEIB group he has been involved in the assistance of laboratory work of different undergraduate, masters and Phd students. During his years as MSc student and research assistance he has published several articles, including one as a first author, and participated in several scientific posters in a series of international symposiums.
