What are we looking for?

Any species that you find and ask yourself “What is this??!” or “I have never seen this before!!”, may be of high interest to the NEMA project! We can then group our target species in 3 categories:

 

⦁  Invasive species, like the Atlantic blue crab (Callinectes sapidus), the weakfish (Cynoscion regalis) or some medusae species like the Blackfordia virginica;
⦁ Subtropical species, as the ornate wrasse (Thalassoma pavo), the Mediterranean parrotfish (Sparisoma cretense) or the bearded fire-worm (Hermodice carunculata);
⦁  Other “odd” species, that may seem out of place, as some pufferfishes (Lagocephalus sp.) or deep-sea species like the Atlantic pomfret fish (Brama brama).
