Lisbon

Lisbon, the main portuguese city and capital, is about 280 km away from Faro.

 

PLANE

There are daily flights between Lisbon and Faro, operated by TAP airlines. This trip can take about 45 minutes.

 

TRAIN

Portuguese trains are operated by CP and there are several daily connections between Lisbon and Faro, with trips that can last from 2h30m to 4h. The trips in Alfa Pendular (high speed train) are a more convenient and faster choice to travel. Prices can go up to 30€/person.

 

BUS

Rede EXPRESSOS and EVA Transports provide buses from Lisbon to Faro. There are a lot of options and schedules for this direct transport between the two cities. The journey can vary from 3h to4h, depending on the number of stopovers. Tickets cost around 19€.

 

CAR

Car trip Lisbon-Faro can take from 2h30 to 3h if you use highways A2/A22. Toll costs are around 25€. In Portugal, gas costs 1.50€/1.60€ per liter. A22 charges electronic toll.

 

 

 

Oporto

 

Oporto is the second largest portuguese city and is 550 km far from Faro.

 

PLANE

Flights between Porto and Faro are operated through the TAP and RYANAIR. This trip can last about 45 minutes, with Ryanair (direct flight) or a little bit more when operated by TAP as this flights have one stopover in Lisbon. 

 

TRAIN

 

Trains in Portugal are operated by CP and there are daily connections between Porto and Faro, with trips that can take up to 6h. Alfa Pendular (high speed train) is the most convenient and fastest choice, particularly for longer journeys, such as this one. Prices can cost more than 40€/person.

 

BUS

Rede EXPRESSOS  provides daily connections between Oporto and Faro (please check the schedule). The trip can last from 6h to 10h, depending on the number of stopovers.

 

CAR

Car trip Oporto-Faro can take 5h to 6h if you take highways (A1/A10/A2/A22). Toll costs are around 70€. In Portugal, 1 liter of gas costs 1.50€/1.60€. A22 charges electronic toll.

 

 

Spain

Faro is located about 60Km away from Spainish border, around 50 minutes driving by car. The closest Andaluzian cities are Huelva (114 km) and Seville (200 km).

 

BUS

The EVA Transports provides daily connections between Seville and Faro. The route can vary from 3h to 4h, depending on the service selected.   

 

CAR

Gas costs vary between Spain and Portugal, from 1.35€/1.40€ in Spain to 1.50€/1.60€ in Portugal. If you are coming to Portugal from Huelva, you will have electronic toll in A22 (around 7€).
