CCMAR researchers contribute to a new book

 

Recently published, the new book "Feeding and Digestive Functions in Fishes”, has contributions from three of the CCMAR researchers: Luís Conceição, Sofia Morais and Maria Teresa Dinis.
The book aims to review the current knowledge about nutrition and digestive function of fish, in aquaculture and also in the natural environment. This book aims to complement other books about fish nutrition, which focus mainly on nutritional requirements.

The issues contained in this book include: fish feeding ecology in the wild field, feeding behaviour, anatomy of digestive system, biochemical and physiological aspects of different fish species development, the impact of diet on the development of digestive system and its condition, nutrition and resistance to diseases, and modelling of the food conversion.
