Practical Course on Identification of Aquatic Invasive Species (EEIA)
CCMAR will hold, under the auspices of the LIFE INVASAQUA project, a Practical Course on the Identification of Aquatic Invasive Species (EEIA), aimed at field agents with responsibilities in surveillance and monitoring in nature, such as ICNF Nature Watchers, SEPNA agents or Maritime Police, among others.
This course, which will take place on June 1, 2023, is free and taught by experts in the various taxonomic groups, as well as in the legislation and problematic of invasive species, and replicates a set of training courses that have been held in Portugal and Spain to train these agents to recognize the Aquatic Invasive Species (EEIAs), their forms of dispersion and possible impacts, and know how to act in accordance with the legislation.
The course has a general scope but with some focus on the species of most concern in the Algarve region, and will be an important contribution to mitigate the dispersion of EEIAs, as recommended in the various Biodiversity Strategies.
The event will be presential at the University of Algarve, Gambelas Campus, Building 9 - Laboratório Experimental de Organismos Aquáticos.
Participation is free of charge, but subject to registration. Registration is limited due to the highly practical nature of this course.
Os cursos de formação destinam-se a agentes de campo com responsabilidades na fiscalização e vigilância da natureza.
