Sustainability of small-scale fisheries: the importance of cultural heritage and harmonization with the marine environment
The "CABFishMAN - Conservation of Atlantic Biodiversity through Support for Innovative Co-Management of Small Fisheries" project, funded by the Interreg - Atlantic Area program, in which CCMAR / UAlg is part of the consortium of European institutions, aims at supporting cooperation of the small-scale fishing stakeholders, improving the protection of resources, moving towards an ecosystem-based approach to management and promoting the compatibility of small-scale fishing with marine conservation.
In this context, CCMAR / UAlg invites you to participate in the Webinar entitled “Sustainability of small-scale fisheries: the importance of cultural heritage and harmonization with the marine environment”, which will take place on the 24th of July, between 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm.
This Webinar will address the relevance of small-scale fisheries’ cultural heritage and the potential for sustainable, ecosystem-sensitive co-management in the Northeast Atlantic, with emphasis placed on small-scale fisheries in Portugal.
The session will be chaired and facilitated by Jorge Gonçalves (CCMAR / UAlg). Gonçalo Carvalho (Executive Coordinator of Sciaena) will be our guest speaker, followed by the CABFishMAN team speakers Inês Sousa (CCMAR / UAlg) and Paulo Vasconcelos (IPMA).
